Skokie’s only off-leash dog park opened its gates in 2003, providing a unique outdoor green space for area dogs (and their owners) to run free. Located at Channelside Park, Pooch Park features more than 2.7 acres of open area for dogs to run. The park also featured separate fenced-in areas for puppies and small dogs, and for agility training. Amenities include dog water fountains (seasonal) and a station to hose off dogs. The park is closed for routine maintenance each Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Pooch Park is a joint venture of the Skokie Park District and the City of Evanston.

Stop in at any Skokie Park District facility with the following documents: proof of shots for rabies, distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, bordetella, and para-influenza, as well as proof of stool specimen for internal parasites.

Woofstock, Pooch Park’s anniversary celebration is held the first Sunday after Memorial Day. Skokie's canine event of the year offers dogs and their owners a chance to experience contests, food and treats, ‘60s tunes and other free doggie fun.
