This 3.1-acre site was purchased in 1955 as a result of a successful referendum after which 17 sites were acquired. Frontage Park was then developed along the Eden’s Expressway to the west. In 1993 the park was redeveloped at a cost of $160,000. Redevelopment included drainage improvements, water service replacements, new pathways, new playground, picnic tables, benches, trash receptacles, drinking fountain, basketball court, and sand volleyball court, and landscape improvements. In 1999 former commissioner and board president Martin Peccia died unrepentantly. The board renamed the park Martin F. Peccia Park in his honor.
