In 1964 a $2,000,000 bond referendum was passed, and along with a $6,000,000
Housing and Urban Development grant the District was able to purchase and
develop ten new parks, including this 0.6-acre site at Main St. and Hamlin Ave.
Three tennis courts were eventually constructed. In 1993 the courts were
reconstructed and a landscaped entry area was built on the west side for a total
cost of $63,000.
