This 1.1-acre site located between Lee Street and Wright Street was purchased in 1937 with funds from the proceeds of the sale of a portion of Oakton/Emily Parks for the construction of Niles East High School (now Oakton Community Collage). At one time the park had a concrete spray pool, which helped alleviate the heat during the summer months. The spray pool was abandoned in and finally demolished in 1990. The park was redeveloped in 1993 at a cost of redevelopment $178,000. Redevelopment included new playground, picnic tables, benches, trash receptacles, drinking fountain and water service, drainage improvements and rustic fencing, relocated basketball court and new interior walks. Landscape improvements included trees, shrubs and sodding. Additional improvements to the basketball court and playgrounds were made in 1998.
